Brief Answer:
Colonoscopy

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

Blood clots can be considered fresh or unaltered blood. Such unaltered blood is usually a sign of colonic bleeding.

If the bleeding is from upper intestinal tract like small intestines, the blood get altered due to digestive enzymes and turn the stool black.

Since, its fresh blood the possibilities of the lesion or the bleeding site being present in the colon is more.

Many conditions cause bleeding, the best way to ascertain the exact cause for the bleeding is by a Colonoscopy.

Colonoscopy not only identifies the condition but also can some times be therapeutic if the condition asks for it.

Do get a colonoscopy, there is no need to wait for next episode of bleeding.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.
