What Causes Blood Discharge From The Penis During Bowel Movements?

Question: I am an 81 year old male. I recently blood discharges with urine twice while moving my bowels. I have also noticed small amounts of blood discharge during the night and during the day. There is nom pain associated with these discharges. About a year ago I experienced prostates symptoms which were eliminated with medication.

thanks for query.

Any leak of blood via urine tract should be considered a matter of serious concern ESP at this age. The blood could be due to increasing prostate volume breaking the tiny blood capillaries. However serum Prostate specific antigen coupled with counts and urine examination are mandatory before more invasive investigation are taken up.
