What Causes Blood In Semen?
Question: About 3 weeks ago there was blood in my semen. It was after some intense sex. It lasted for about a week. For the last two weeks it feels like there is a cool menthol feeling jest bellow my belly button on the left side. It has gotten less intense but radiated up through my stomach, like my stomach wall had been covered with menthol or I had cool water running through my stomach area. I also noticed bright blood when I wipe which I've had before. Had some polyps removed about 5 years ago and have had bright blood from time to time. I do take Acyclovir to keep from having a herpes out break. What do you think the cool menthol feeling is and should I get checked?
Brief Answer:
Consult a urologist and gastroentrologist
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Since you had polyp in the past and blood in the semen, there could have occurred complications related to the same.
I advice you to consult the specialist to rule out any serious conditions there.
Feeling cold like menthol can be seen in extreme conditions of nerve defect. I doubt it to be the cause in you. There could be a internal organ defect. Proceed with getting an Ultrasound scan first and then present the report to an urologist and a gastroentrologist who after examining you can rule out any problems.
Hope, I answered your query.
Wish you good health.
