What Causes Blood In Semen?
I discussed the blood in semen at my yearly physical two weeks ago, today I have a referral to urologist...appointment to be made. My testicles keep changing size...what's going on?
Bleeding is from burst superficial vein on the surface of Enlarged Prostate
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted, it appears that you have blood in semen (Hemospermia)
I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Do you have associated obstructive voiding symptoms like frequency for urination , poor stream , nocturia etc. ?
The most common cause for blood in semen at this age is due to bleeding from burst superficial veins on the surface of enlarged prostate and needs to be investigated However the possibility of bleeding due to side effect of blood thinner can not be ruled out .
Do consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic
tests done to confirm the diagnosis :
1) Urine routine and culture analysis
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.
4) Endoscopic Examination of bladder (Cystoscopy)
I would suggest you to stop taking aspirin for couple of weeks and observe for any improvement .
Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

I have had a abdominal AAA, followed by Scrotum ultra sound (cyst).
Still the blood in semen continues. I had a EKG at my Cardiologist in XXXXXXX he put me on Eloquist , within 3 weeks I had blood in my urine, stopped the Eloquist...had a Cardioversion , and I am now on Comodine 5mg...doing required blood work every few weeks. The blood while having a bowel movement, discharge from penis only started within the last month. There is no more visible blood in the urine.
