Brief Answer:
many possible causes

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your comments.

There are many possible causes for blood in the stool. It could be from hemorrhoids, parasites or from a tear or other problem in the rectal area.

Though unusual but it could also be something more serious like rectal or colon cancer.
You need to see a doctor and have an exam and perhaps some tests to determine the cause of this bleeding.

In the mean time, here are some suggestions for you:

Drink plenty of water, at least 8 glasses daily
Avoid all caffeine and alcohol
Avoid tobacco
I'd not advice any gel/ointment for local application until properly examined

Keep your stools soft by eating a high fiber diet with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains

Let me know if there's any further queries, i'll be glad to help
