What Causes Blood In Urine Post Kidney Stone Removal?
Question: I just had 3 kidney stone surgeries and have had bloody urine for the past 10 days or so with a UA containing "Flora"? I am also HCV+. My Primary care Dr. said my Liver enzymes are high and I should check back in with my GI Dr. on my HCV, but I am reading that Kidney problems can increase Liver enzymes? My GI Dr. has said in the past that my liver is in surprisingly good health considering having HCV for so many years. I am only a Stage-1 Liver damage and quit alcohol upon learning of my HCV in the mid '90's.

Brief Answer:
Kidney problems does not raise liver enzymes
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
You want to know whether kidney problems can increase liver enzymes.
The answer is NO. Kidney problems as such do not increase liver enzymes. But if there is infection involving kidneys, liver enzymes may increase as infection is one of the causes of raised liver enzymes.
Please upload the liver enzyme report. I will go through it and see how much it is deranged.

Dr.Barani
