What Causes Blood In Urine When Diagnosed With Kidney Stone?

Question: i recently passed a kidney stone in May and had a urine sample last week and hemoglobin dips showed 10 ERC/ul --what does that mean ----is that normal in the circumstances
Brief Answer:
Normal
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
It is normal to have mild blood in urine when one has passed kidney stones, it is because the stone on its way would have damaged the surrounding mucosa. Here is what you should do
1. Drink plenty of fluids, up to 3 liters per day
2. Avoid chocolates , spinach and legumes
3. Repeat your urine test after 4 weeks, if the blood in urine still exists then further evaluation might be required
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
Regards
