What Causes Blood In Urine While Coughing?

Question: Hi - I am 28 years old, male and today when i was peeing, i coughed and suddenly i felt some irritation in the penis while peeing and blood came out. Bleeding stopped though. Otherwise, right now I have some cough and cold. Can you please suggest what would have happened?

Brief Answer: UTI or Urinary stones Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for your query. Blood in the urine can be seen in two of the common causes, either due to infection of the urinary tract wherein there can be abrasion sin the urinary tract which would have developed to a wound and bleed. The other most common possibility is urinary stones. Stones in the urinary tract can inflict wounds in any part of the urinary tract which can bleed whenever there is increase in the intra-abdominal pressure. Do get an Ultrasound scan for better diagnosis and to get an idea needed for management. Wish you good health. Regards,
