Brief Answer:
What tests have you done already?
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this blood that you have reported in your urine. How did you come to find out that there was blood in your urine? Was it as a result of a problem involving the
urinary system or just on routine testing?
Blood in urine can be caused by many different disease conditions from the kidneys to the
urethra. This can be caused by an infection, kidney stones, parasites, cancers, bleeding disorders,
kidney infection, etc. Also, damaged muscles would present in urine as blood.
You should get a comprehensive
urinalysis. This will look at the nature of the red blood cells and tell us whether these cells originate from the kidneys or after the kidneys. This will orient further investigations.
I will also like you to upload the results sheets of your various tests. I will like to know how much blood is in this urine and take a closer look at the other parameters.
In all, if no cause is identifiable after preliminary testing and you have no disabling symptoms, I will suggest that you control these findings in 4weeks to see if they are persistent or not. Should they be present, then more aggressive testing involving imaging, microbiological investigations and blood clotting panel, etc.
I hope this helps. I wish you well and feel free to ask for more information if need be. Thanks for using our services, we very much appreciate you stopping by.
