What Causes Blood In Urine?
Question: I had blood on toilet paper after urinating. The day before I had the urge to urinate ,but couldn't. I drank some cranberry juice and later was able to urinate.
Brief Answer:
This is hematuria.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
This is hematuria, that is blood in urine.Blood in urine can be due to bleed from kidneys, ureter , urinary bladder or urethra.Sometimes blood coagulation issues can cause this.
In your case it can be due to urinary infection as you seem to have relieved symptoms on eating cranberry.
But a hematuria should not be ignored and you should undertake some evaluations to know cause and site of site of hematuria.
Investigations like urine analysis, ultrasound and blood investigations can help determine the cause.
I would recommend you to see a urologist.
Meanwhile continue to drink lots of fluid.
Hope this helps. Please ask if there are doubts.Regards,
