What Causes Blood In Urine?
Question: I noticed blood in my urine during the night but the urine has turned pinkish as the day goes. I have no pain associated with it other than heartburn that has gone.

blood in the urine has to be investigated for its cause. Painless hematuria requires ruling out tumors. Since you've had no symptoms to help localize the potential origin of the blood, a thorough examination of the urinary tract is needed. Infections which represent a major part of hematuria cases, are usually symptomatic.
I would start with a urinalysis to confirm the presence of blood and blood tests to evaluate the renal function (urea, creatinine) or detect other causes of "red" urine like muscle enzymes, etc.
The next step would be a radiological evaluation of the hematuria. Depending on the blood tests a more or less aggressive evaluation can be chosen. An ultrasound scan for example is the simplest (but not the most effective) test. A CT scan can detect many problems in the upper urinary tract. A cystoscopy may detect urinary bladder problems.
A common painless source of blood is the prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia mostly but tumors are also possible). The prostate can be examined clinically and by the ultrasound scan and CT scan.
