I carefully read your question and understand your concern.

First of all with a red urine we need to make sure is it blood or not. Sometimes some food and some medications can change the urine color and make it seem like blood. This is a very common reason for red urine.
A urine test will show if there are red blood cells in urine or not.

There are several causes of blood in urine and I am going to mention them according to frequency:

A common medical cause of blood in the urine might be urinary tract infection and prostate infection also. The same test as above (urinalysis) will determine presence of red blood cells in urine and sometimes it might show white blood cells (cells that fight the infection) and nitrites that show the presence of a certain bacteria in the urine. Urineculture might be helpful also telling us which bacteria are in the urine and how many and which antibiotics are effective against them.

To visualise the prostate a digital rectal exam and rectal ultrasound with PSA blood test check might be very helpful.

Sometimes urinary tract stones might cause blood with urine and these might be hard to be identified as they are not visible with ultrasound in most of the cases (only 20% are seen with ultrasound). Abdominal xray might find 4/5 of urinary tract stones.

Rare causes but improtant are tumors especially the bladder tumor and more rarely the kidney tumors. To identify those ultrasound with a full bladder might be the first step and cystoscopy is the best test to check for bladder tumors. Sometimes CT scan and MRI might be helpful to identify urinary tract tumors an stones.

Make sure you drink plenty. Almost all the above cases are helped by drinking plenty. If you smoke this is a time to quit as smoking is a risk factor for bladder tumors.
