What Causes Blood In Urine?

Question: 68 year old female....lots of blood in urine....happened 4 times now......twice this last Sunday with clots. Had a pelvic..rectal exam and blood work done.....everything ok except lots of blood in urine.....ER said something in bladder or colon......I do have lots of scar tissue from a tumor and full hysterectomy.....going crazy .....scheduled for a urologist on Friday......but right now it's 4 days out and I'm scared.....any answers to possibilities would help.....Ty Yvonne LaFavor

Blood in the urine can come from any condition that results in infection, inflammation, or injury to the urinary system. Typically, visible blood indicates damage to the lower tract (ureters, bladder, or urethra). But this is not always the case. It can be related to a bladder malignancy.
