What Causes Blood In Vomit During Pregnancy?

default
Posted on Wed, 1 Jun 2016
Question: I'm 30 weeks pregnant and woke up vomiting blood this morning. I noticed some of it looked like clots. It was about 1-2 cups. I was also having sharp chest pains and felt as if my lungs hurt every time I took a deep breath, even now it still hurts but not as bad. The night before I was feeling very weak, hot, and nauseous. I thought about going to the ER but financially I can't afford to.

Brief Answer:
severe gastritis/ XXXXXXX weis syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
The blood in vomit indicates sever gastritis following intake of possible spicy and oily foods or can be due to possible XXXXXXX weiss syndrome where lower esophageal veins may rupture and accompanied with severe pain as well.

Now if the pain is reduced and bleeding is controlled I still feel you should be visiting your gastroenterologist and definitely endoscopic examination is mandatory. So please visit ER.
