What Causes Blood Ins Tool Of A 4 Year Old Child?
Looks like an infective diarrhea or acute bacillary dysentery - suggested
Detailed Answer:
Hi...By what you quote this looks like an acute bacillary dysentery.
Once it starts it will take 5-7 days to completely get better. Unless the kid's having low urine output or very dull or excessively sleepy or green bilious vomiting...you need not worry. Blood in the motion suggests - bacterial infection.
This warrants an antibiotic therapy and the best choice would be - Cefixime at 8-10mg/kg/day in two divided doses for a total of 5 days.
Apart from this - I suggest you use zinc supplements (Z&D drops 1ml once daily for 14 days) & ORS (Each small packet mixed in 200ml of potable water and keep giving sip by sip) as hydration is very important and crucial part of treatment. If there is vomiting you can use Syrup Ondansetron (as prescribed by your paediatrician).
All these are prescription drugs except ORS and you will need a prescription for them.
