Hello Don. I have been through your question and understand your concern.
Normally this is not an important feature, except in one case.
There is a rare condition called Dural Arterio Venous Fistula (DAVF) which you can hear only in one ear. This is also listened by your GP through a sthetoscope.
If that is the case a contrast enhanced CT scan should be performed to rule out or confirm the diagnosis.
