What Causes Bloody Discharge In Semen?
Question: have had extensive blood in my ejaculate for the past 7 years, have seen 2 urologist and have had the scope (systcotopy ???) mri with contrast..Nothing showed ..have had no traumatic injury..at least 20 blood tests.. was prescribed testosterone injections for chronically low T levels . after 2 months of weekly self injections the blood decreased by 80%, don't really like the idea of weekly injections, The last urologist suggested a rotor rooter procedure for the prostate, problem is, when I had the systcostomy I was incontinent for 2 weeks ( yes 2 weeks, not only embarrassing but limited my work schedule ) and the urologist wasn't 100% sure that procedure would correct the bloody ejaculate situation
Brief Answer:
your urologist is right I think
Detailed Answer:
Hello there
Welcome to health care magic
I have read your query and understood your concern.
What do you mean by blood decreased by 80%??
MRI with contrast, cystoscopy could have not missed the actual issue in GenitoUrinary tract
In my opinion,You should take testosterone supplements only if needed (or) as prescribed under expert supervision.otherwise this itself can exacerbate your prostate pathology
Bloody discharge in semen may be related to prostate issue..
Yes,TURP or roto rooter procedure is safe and of course can't say the success as your treating urologist..further queries are welcome..
Regards..
