What Causes Bluish Discoloration Of Skin On Finger Of A Diabetic Patient?

Question: The circulation in my right index finger seems to have been cut off somehow. There is blue appearing on the skin down into my hand, and the finger feels as if I had coated it in glue and now cannot feel it or move it freely. Any ideas whether this is a reason to go to my doctor? An emergency? I am a 67-year-old overweight woman with Type II diabetes. Thank you!

Looking at your description this could be related to decreased blood supply or inflammation of the index finger
Here i would like further information for better assessment like
Is there any history of trauma or injury?
Do you smoke
Since how long you have diabetes
Are you having adequate control over blood sugar?
If possible upload me a photograph and latest blood sugar reports.

Since you are diabetic and finger has already turned blue with inability to move so I would advise you to visit emergency room immediately for physical examination and confirmation of diagnosis.
