What Causes Blurred Vision And Stickiness In The Eyes After A Cataract Surgery?
Question: I am male, 59 years old. I had a cataract surgery on September 25 of this year on my right eye, 26 days ago. I had had another cataract surgery for my left eye, which is very fine, I see well. I strictly followed the recommendations of the doctor after this last surgery but when I wake up in the morning, my vision is very blurry, and after about two hours, my vision gradually increases. During the day, time to time my eyes are stabbing and sticking. I feel like I'm looking behind a strainer because I can't see all of an object, partially clear partially blurry vision. I use Maxidex drops three times a day. I use nearby glasses. I have hernia, I use Cataflam, but not regularly. Every morning I take Delix for HBP. What else can I do to cure this disease?
Brief Answer:
YAG laser has to be done.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Have seen your details.
Its a complication of cataract surgery that usually can be treated easily is posterior capsular opacification which can cause your vision to become cloudy months after cataract removal.
YAG laser can be used to treat posterior capsule opacity safely, effectively and painlessly. This procedure, known as YAG laser capsulotomy.
Meet your opthalmologist and get it done.
Thanks!

Dear Dr XXXXXXX
Thank you for your reply.
YAG operation can make my vision clear but I think cannot treat the stabbing, sticking and stinging in my eye. I use an anti-inflammatory drug called Cataflam because of doing weightlifting for a long time I have some inflammatory in my joints. Can I also use an anti-inflammatory eye drop such as Nevanac? Meantime, after 27 days of surgery I still use Maxidex.
Thank you for your interest in advance.

Dear Dr XXXXXXX
This is my last question.
I had cataract surgery for my left eye three years ago, problems disappered within ten days and since then I see very well. My right eye operation was done by the same doctor and in the same hospital, but after one month I really feel very uncomfortable. I write the same sentence in my first question, when I wake up in the morning, my vision is very blurry, and after about two hours, my vision gradually increases but never full recovery. During the day, time to time my eyes are stabbing and sticking. When will the stabbing, stinking and sticking disappear? What can be done? Another operation, different eye drops or pills?
Thank you for your replies.

Ferit Erkekli
Sorry, I have forgotten one thing. Is it possible that I have uveitis? If it is what should I do?

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
As explained earlier its a complication of cataract surgery and things would improve only after proper managemant by laser surgery.
You are already on steroid eye drop which are potent anti inflammatory. If things are not improving even after using a potent anti inflammatory agent it means that you have to proceed further for better management.
If it would be uveitis(inflammation) then it would have responded to potent anti inflammatory steroids.
Thanks!
