What Causes Blurred Vision With Deep Bone Pain?
Question: Hi I have been experiencing blurry vision, deep bone pain, sudden onset of arthritic symptoms. My blod work shows a vitamin D deficiency (13), and a alkaline phosphatase result of 162. Do you think I should have any further blood tests?

I think you need further evaluation, testing and follow up.
Blurred vision might or not be related to the arthritis nor bone pain. It might be of interest to get an opinion of an opthalmologist, especially if this is new of if the visual disturbance becomes real disturbing.
Deep bone pain could be due t an inflammation, osteoporosis and at times some infections. Arthrgitic symptoms would deserve that a distinction be made between diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis,lupus and other systemic diseases. The opinion of a rheumatological work up is useful. Complete blood count, rheumatoid factor, C reactive protein, c 3 fragment, HLA 27, Calcium levels in blood, anti nuclear anti bodies are all very useful. X rays , Ct scans and at time to Bone mass density to evaluate for osteoporosis could be most useful.
Vitamin Deficiency requires supplementation. A control after a couple of months taking the drug would be useful. Blood calcium levels are important to be tested.
An alkaline phosphatase level of 162 is high. It should normally be less than a 100U/l. Liver, bone diseases and cancers, heart disease and kidney disease could all be incriminated. The bone disease is more likely in this case.
A proper management plan shall depend mainly on a proper clinical examination by your doctor and specific and oriented tests.
It is important, in my opinion, for you to meet a Doctor. An internist from the start would most appropriated. He shall be better placed to refer you to other specialties based on the need.
