What Causes Body Ache, Pain In Lower Right Abdomen And Nausea?
Question: This question concerns my dad. He is 90 years old and has been in generally good health. He is now experiencing body aches, pain in the lower right abdominal quadrant, nausea, and his temperature is 93.3. He had his appendix and gal bladder removed many years ago. These symptoms have been present for the past couple of days.

There could be multiple reasons for pain in right lower quadrant of abdomen.
There are structures like caecum and ileocecal junction there. Even kidney can give rise to pain in that region.
At this point it will be beneficial for him to get an ultrasound abdomen to be done as it will exactly show the reason behind the pain so as it could be treated with exact remedy.
Nausea usually follows any colicky pain arising from abdomen.
Instead of giving tylenol you can give him some antispasmodic like meftal spas which can be available over the counter. It will help reduce the spasms of smooth muscle and give quick relief and better than tylenol.
But get an ultrasound as soon as possible so as to treat the cause.
