What Causes Body Pain Along With High Grade Fever?
Question: dear doctor
my wife was having
body pains, intermittently, shivering and 103 fever , bp normal .
the symptoms first seen at 4th night and 5th morning and 5th night. today 6th afternoon she again experienced the same in spite of using dolo 650 since yday after noon.
today we came to doctor and asked to admit and be in observation.
the lab report shows typhi h and o is 1:80 .
pls suggest if it is typhoid. the dengue and malaria are negative.

Your widal test is coming negative that is 1:80. But there is need to test it by typhidot, which is more sensitive test than widal for typhoid fever.
After typhidot there is also need to do blood culture and stool culture followed by antimicrobial sensitivity testing for Salmonella typhi at the pick of fever for typhoid fever.
Till the result of the blood culture available maintain the normal body temperature by taking paracetamol, cold water sponge, adequate hydration. Also eat green leafy vegetables, fruits.
