Management of boil

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern

Shaving hair can cause ingrown hair and lead to infection of hair follicles and development o boil.
Management of boil is detailed below
-Keep the affected area clean and dry. Use mild antibacterial soap.
-Use warm compress to speed up the healing process
-Do not squeeze or pop the boil
-Apply Neosporin (antibiotic) ointment on the boil.
-Wear loose fitting clothes
-Once the boil starts draining, start using gaize dressing
-Do not share towels to prevent spread of infection.
-It is best to avoid shaving and use hair removal creams to prevent ingrown hair
- If you decide to shave make sure to use shaving creams and shave in direction of the hair.

If you notice the symptoms worsening or development of fever, please follow up with your primary care provider. You may need drainage of the boil and oral antibiotics.
