Get a stool test done, constipation may be the cause
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking on this platform...
I have gone through the query and do understand your concern.
I would like to know about the amount of stool.
Is it small or very large in quantity?
Is it more sticky?
For how long this complaint is there?
Most of the time a frequent stool is seen in case of constipation where the bowel is incomplete evacuated. So although the child is passing stool 8-10 times a day, the amount will be less and would suggest constipation. Amoebic infection may also present with this complaint. Rarely incomplete digestion of fat may cause frequent bulky stool.
I would like to get a stool test done to rule out any Amoebic infection or abnormal content of fat.
Laxative like lactulose may help in making the bowel pattern more regular by relieving constipation. Giving plenty of fluids and adding sugar to the feed may also help.
I hope this helps.
Please get back with the answer so that I better able to help you out.
Regards
The stool quantity is small each time and its soft
It s there for one week
Last week i gave him mashed mutton for the first time along with rice. Not sure whether its because if that. But after each meal, he passes stool in small quantity.
You can wait for few days

Hi
Thanks for follow up
I won't get overly worried as baby is otherwise active, the history is short and there is no other significant complaints.
You can wait for few days and observe if the stool pattern gets normal.
I don't think it is due to constipation, infection or any fat malabsorption.
Please let me know and/or consult a pediatrician if there is any further change in stool pattern or any other symptoms appear.
