What Causes Breast Pain In A 22 Year Old Lactating Mother?
Question: hi doctor , my wife is 22 years old and she is mother of 1 year old daughter. Last 3 weeks she feels pain in breast of both. when she feeding to baby feels more pain. why pain is coming?.

Ask you wife weather the consistency of breast tissue when touched is very firm or hard. Many times retention of milk will cause the pain, in that case the breast is harder.

As your wife doesn't have any of the symptoms i asked, you should get her examined by a doctor, If the pain is unbearable then she can stop the feeding as the baby is already one year old.

thanks again. she feeds Most of time. at night she feeds half of time. is this problem?

Give more solid foods to baby.

As baby is already 1 year old concentrate more on other foods. As the breast milk will not be sufficient for the nutrition of baby. Breast milk should only be supplementary now, not the main diet for baby. Give a good solid dinner by 9- 9.30, so that the baby don't feel too much hungry in night.

thanks doctor, today we visited local clinic. that doctor examined and told nipple in reddish color and find three bubbles in nibble. doctor prescribed some medicine. I attached the prescription.shall we use it?
