What Causes Breathing Difficulty After Using Ketoconazole Cream?
I am 23, and I am having difficulty breathing after using Ketoconazole cream. I was diagnosed with gout in the US a year ago.
I've used Ketoconazole cream on my back for 3 nights, but I stopped using it after I had difficulty breathing last night. I just landed in Shanghai, and I don't have access to a hospital now. Is there anything I could do to make breathing easier?
Oral/inhaled deriphyllin, oral decongestants
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM.
I can appreciate your concern regarding the difficulty in breathing after ketoconazole cream application.
In my experience local application of ketoconazole should not be causing such symptoms. I think it might be a change in weather or something else like cold/confestion in chest that
could be triggered the symptoms.
I would suggest you consult a doctor and get yourself properly examined.
I think he should be prescibing bronchodilator like deriphyllin with or without oral corticosteroids. Additionally, you may be prescribed antiallergic medications like montelukast, levocetrizine or phenylephrine etc.
Hope you will be fine soon,
Take care
