Question: I have constant feeling of hunger, followed by trouble beathing and sometimes dizziness. when I eat I feel full so quickly and sometimes nausea . I did a gastroscopy and they found a small hiatal hernia (nothing else), could it be the reason behind these symptoms or could it be IBS or what?

Brief Answer:
Would suggest you go for cardiac investigations

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Difficulty in breathing and dizziness after having food could also be related to the heart. I would suggest you go for a 2d echo of heart to rule out any valvular abnormality as well as any problem with cardiac output. When you take food the blood supply toward stomach increases. In case of any cardiac problem, chances are that heart at that time is unable to maintain blood supply to the brain causing presyncope.

This is not a typical presentation of a patient with IBS.

Would suggest you go for cardiac investigation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks. I went twice to the emergency and they did an EKG and both times they found no issues. should I still go to a cardiologist? Some blood tests showed that the liver enzymes are a bit high; could that be the cause?

Brief Answer:
Follow up

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Ekg is just a baseline test of cardiology and is not very reliable (it's overhyped).

After going through your complete history and symptoms I would suggest you visit a cardiologist and to get a 2d echo and stress test done. Combined together they are more than 90% sensitive to rule out cardiac disease.

Mild to moderate elevation of a particular liver enzyme has no clinical significance. Minimum three times elevation is required.
When we have facilities then I think a visit to a cardiologist should be done.

Follow up with what cardiologist suggests you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
