Brief Answer:
This could be due to collection of fluids in the coverings of lung

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I appreciate your concern
Troubled breathing with crackling sound in chest is suggestive of collection of fluids in the coverings of lung
Another possibility is pneumonia or bronchitis like infective conditions of the respiratory tract
Here, I would like further information to guide you better
Are you running fever or any recent history of weight loss?

In my opinion you should consult a chest physician for examination and a battery of tests blood for hemoglobin, CBC, Liver function test and an X ray chest or pulmonary function test

Hope this answers your question
please feel free to ask for more clarifications, I will gladly answer you
