Question: I have bright red blood discharging from penis when urination feels imminate. what should I do?

Blood in the urine is called hematuria. There are different possible causes but one of the most common causes is an infection of the genitial urinary tract.
This can sometimes be associated with additional symptoms such as frequency of urination, discomfort on urination or change in the color or odor of the urine.
Other causes of blood in the urine include-(1) stone in the urinary tract,
(2)blood disorder,
(3)side effect of medication ( eg anti clotting medication),
(4)mass in the urinary tract (this can be benign or dangerous/malignant),
(5) kidney disease,
(6) trauma
(7)disease of the prostate eg prostate enlargement or infection
It would be best to be seen by your doctor because treatment depends on the cause of the bleeding.
In addition to a urine test, imaging such as ultrasound, may be needed
If it is an infection, then imaging would not be usually done.Antibiotics would be needed.
