What Causes Brown Dead Skin In Vagina?
Question: What do you do when you see brown dead skin when you wipe after using the restroom? No smell or pain, does however kind if itch .....really noticed after period
Brief Answer:
I think what you're seeing is part of the decidual cast.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
I do not think it is skin you're seeing at the end of your cycle. Rather it is thick somewhat dryer mucus and part of the shed endometrial lining. This can vary a great deal for an individual and for different women. Brown only means that the blood is had time to oxidize or, in other words, rust. So this is a slow process at the end of the cycle as the last remnants of the layer that has shed at the very bottom-which is a little tougher and looks more like what you described. .
I hope this explains things. It does sound like a normal variant to me.
