Brief Answer:
I prefer such persons should see doctor ASAP
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
This is not a good sign to see quite dark and maroon color urine suddently in an elderly person. It denotes muscle damage and the resultant product called myoglobin will be excreted called myoglobunuria. This can acutely damage the kidney. I shall not be sure if this is because of the medication or a new muscle damage that is happening.
I suggest you to please visit a Nephrologist as soon as possible or at least an Internal Medicine physician whoever appointment is quick.
