What Causes Brownish Discharge After Delivery?
Question: dear doc, today its 25 days after the normal delivery of my baby. im was getting my periods but the bleeding has stop and passing some brownish color. just today i have gone to poo but i saw i was bleefing from my anus. the blood is not coming from the vagina but frm butt. is it normal? is it a kind of an illness? and after poo im feeling a little burning sensation. should i go to see a doc?

Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Bleeding from anus with little burning after a normal delivery is due to a condition called 'fissure-in-ano'.
This is of course not normal but is quite common and a proper care will help you get a complete cure.
I would advise you the following:
you can try the following method of treatment and you may NOT need surgery.
High fiber diet.
Avoid all the foods and beverages and stress-like conditions which gives constipation.
Laxative for softening the stool- never allow the dose too much to cause liquid stools.
Sitz bath- very important- just before passing a stool and after passing a stool.
Clean the area very clear of the fecal soiling that remains after cleaning; use cotton soaked in the same water to clean.
You can apply liquid povidone iodine locally. Apply nothing else.
5 day course of an antibiotic on prescription of a local Doctor / General Surgeon.
Add probiotics and multivitamins.
All these measures will help you to get a cure.
