What Causes Brownish Vaginal Discharge Post Unprotected Sex?
Question: My girlfriend has been taking the birth control pill for a few months now and last month we had unprotected sex. I did not ejaculate inside of her, but she is worried about "pre cum". On the day she normally gets her period, she experienced nothing but cramps. The next day, she had brown discharge with a little blood, this happened consistently for two days and then stopped. She has not experienced any other symptons. She takes the pill everyday within hours of the same time, except for once about a week or two ago when she forgot but took it as soon as she woke up the next morning. We are not ready to be parents and are very scared. Is there anything we should be worried about?
Brief Answer:
Unlikely to bbe pregnancy!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this and all the disturbing thoughts that this has caused. With the compliance to pill, it would be unlikely that she gets pregnant. I will recommend that she gets a home pregnancy test just to have assurance that she is not pregnant. depending on results, further steps would be taken.
Please, always consider protection during intercourse. Offers double protection against pregnancy and STDs.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Is there a chance it could be implantation bleeding?
Brief Answer:
It could be but very unlikely!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It is very unlikely to have been a pregnancy and an implantation bleed. I recommend you exercise patient and wait up to the next expected menses. If we do not get a clear indication that this is not pregnancy, we would follow up with a rapid home pregnancy test.
I wish you well.
