default
Posted on Sat, 7 Feb 2015
Question: Hello
I have had these bumps between my scrotum and thigh for a long while. It is blackish and has an odour. I wasn't worried about it as I pulled hair off that area and thought that was the cause. I also recently just noticed to pinkish bumps on the cap of my penis. I went for a test but was asked to see a doctor first to determine the kind of of tests I would need.
Would be grateful if you could help with anything. thanks

Brief Answer:
Could be Sebaceous Cysts.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have multiple Sebaceous Cysts over thigh and groin .

The skin in this area is very rich in sebaceous glands hence hence prone to get more sebaceous cyst due to accumulation of sebum beneath the skin.

Normally they fade away without treatment however they need to be treated if increase in size or get infected.

You need to take broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefexime along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily for 10 days ..

Ensure to maintain proper personal hygiene by cleaning the private parts and groin with warm soap water twice daily.

If needed some of them which are bigger may need to get excised in Toto (Completely along with the sac).

Please consult qualified General Surgeon for clinical evaluation and further treatment.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Brief Answer:
Creamy colored discharge is thick mucus secreted by glands in Urethra.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up.These cyst develop due to blockage of the opening of ducts of the gland that secrete sebum which gets accumulated beneath the skin.

As regards your photograph nothing is visible clearly as it is shoot from very close angle.

The bump on the glans may be due to infection of the glans penis (Ballanitis) and will get cured with medicines I have suggested.

Thanks and Regards.

Thank you Dr. XXXXXXX but you didn't say anything about the occasional discharge.

Say anything, as in you didn't say in detail. I have never experienced it before , so I am worried I might have an infection. I had unprotected sex

Brief Answer:
Get swab test of a discharge done .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up.Clear discharge occasionally without any other urinary symptom like burning pain is mostly due to mucus secreted in excess by glands in glans of the penis ,
However you can get swab test and culture of a discharge from the urethra done to rule out infection .

Thanks and Regards
