What Causes Bumps On Hand?

default
Posted on Mon, 6 Oct 2014
Question: Hi there... I have developed bumps in my left hand!.. One is actually on the ring finger & another on the middle finger! Those are in the hand.. not the back!
When I stretch the ring finger... I then see a couple of bumps!... Hard to describe! They are sore sometimes... and I keep pushing & massaging them hoping they'll go away!
That hand is partucularly stiff in the morning!
All of my nuckles are on the big side( a family thing)..
I've been a hairstylist for over 40 years and never had problems with my hands or feet!
What do you think! Is there a trick to getting rid of this annoyance?
Any opinion would be much appreciated!
Sincerely,
XXXX XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Can be due to warts.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The bumps on the hand that you have noticed can be due to warts or inclusion cysts. There are different approaches to treatment from the application of topical podophyllotoxin solution to the warts to destroy them to destroying them using cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen) or Electrotherapy (hyfrecator, heat basically) or removal with lasers. These are all office procedures, easily done under local anaesthesia perhaps even an anasethetic cream like EMLA by your local dermatologist.
I would advise you to fix an appointment with your nearest dermatologist. Please do not attempt to self-treat as it can have disastrous consequences unless under medical supervision (read: chemical burns)
I hope this answers your query.
