Question: Hello Doctor,i send a question to you doctors burning eye and dry eye about 3 or 4 ago,and i am using restasis for at less 3 years.Dr Dadapeer k, answered back only for dry eye.Please i want someone to answer me for burning eye?

I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.

Burning eye is one of the manifestation of dry eyes. The other causes include chronic use of drugs, exposure to dust smoke, overuse of computers or laptops....

Restasis on prolonged use itself is known to cause the symptoms of burning sensation of the eyes.

Hence in your case first I would like to use artificial tears eye drops like refresh tears along with restasis as restasis alone is not helping.

If the symptoms persist then eye examination is required to assess the severity of the dry eyes and treatment accordingly.

Hence I advice you to start artificial tears eye drops and do follow up with me.
