Prevention/local drops/ allergy specialist's help.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for the follow up query.
It's clear to me now, that refractory error is not an issue,in your case You have already got it checked. Good, as per you the cause of eye problem you have is allergy, because you had it in past.
Sleep is induced by exhaustion & allergy may the causative factor for exhaustion for your exsesive sleep.
You also want me to prescribe medicines,to help you out of the problem.
Well, if you insist, i would suggest few names. But please understand that-
-.Every drug has possibility of side effect, so to prescribe without physical examination is I don't like to do.so please cross check the medicines with your doctor before you take it.
- Few of the drugs I suggest may need a doctor's prescribtion.
- Allergy has to be confirmed by an allergy specialist & he will prescribe the allergy drugs.
* Now cosidering you have
allergic conjunctivitis, I would suggest treatment in follwing steps.
1) Prevention of allergen contact is basic thing to control allergy.so-
Try to avoid cotact of dust/smoak with eye-by wearing spectacles that fit to your orbital fossa & avoids entry of the allergens.
Rinsing with clod water/cold pack to reduce inflammation
Using tear drops to keep your eyes lubricated/moist.
The Refresh tears you are using are good.
2) EYE drops-
-Anti histaminic drops to combat allergy symptoms- I would suggest Emadin drops( Emedastin difumarete), Livistin drops(Levocabastin)-which ever is available.
- Steroid drops- they are given om=nly when above drops fail to give results.
They are given for ashort course when needed.
- Drops that prevent allergy-
mast cell blocker drops-hese do not help for acute symptoms. They act slowly,& prevent attacks.
The drops I suggest are-Claritin eye drops,Refresh eye drops.(Kitotifen fumarate)
Please note they need doctor's prescribtion
* Please note, for good results, drops are to be instilled several times in aday.
3). Oral medicines Given with eye drops when they do not give results.
- anti allergic pills like Allegra(
fexofenadine) or
Livostin (
cetrizine) pills can be taken for 5-10 days maximum ,after dinner.
It can produce
drowsiness
- Steroids- are given only in a short ,tapering dose by treating doctor when the symptoms are seveir/ long standing.
Tab. ALex/Lotemax are the brands I would suggest.
4) Desensatisationtreatment- here increasing doses are allergens are injected ,to produce resistance for it & remove allergy for that perticular allergen.
* For anti allergic treatment you should consult an allergy specialist along with your Opthalmologist.
5) to manage allergy needs a continuos/positive efforts . So try for
stress management & positive attitude by counselling/meditation
I hope this has satisfied you.
