![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: cold fever ....Doctor prescribed levofloxacin n paracetamol frm 3 days am havng...yesterday was stomach burning n today stomach paining badly....
Brief Answer:
perhaps a side effect
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
although levofloxacin is usually well tolerated, some patients may experience abdominal discomfort (nause and/or pain). Levofloxacin is not a very common 1st choice of antibiotic in otherwise healthy individuals (you haven't mentioned anything about your medical history). On the other hand, it's very potent for respiratory and urinary tract infections.
I would recommend talking with your doctor about alternatives. Till then you could try acid-lowering drugs like ranitidine or omeprazole. Sometimes they help.
Kind Regards!

Brief Answer:
it's probably a side effect
Detailed Answer:
Some patients experience abdominal discomfort. This kind of side effect cannot be predicted. You just take the antibiotic and find out later.
Since you've described the pain as "bad" it's better if the treating physician picks another choice of an antibiotic. I can't suggest one since I don't have the complete details of your medical history including the current diagnosis, your past history of antibiotic exposure, your recent contacts (which may have transmitted the pathogen to you), other potential health problems, etc.
Omez is omeprazole. If it didn't work the last time with the same antibiotic then it will probably not work now! I don't see any other option besides changing the regimen.
Kind Regards!
