What Causes Burning Sensation And Red Bump In Vagina?

default
Posted on Fri, 14 Nov 2014
Question: Hi, on Monday I had fooled around with a partner. He had a condom on but there was contact. As of yesterday I had a slight burning sensation in my vagina and I found a red bump this morning. I plan to see a doctor soon but does it sound like a rash to latex or something more severe?

I uploaded a file. I finished my period on Sunday so there should be no discharge. It's egg white consistency with slight beige colour and I just got it today in a small quantity

Brief Answer:
Likely folliculitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for follow up query.

I went through through the photos and details.
It appears that you had trimmed your hair recently.
It appears the red lesion may be due to folliculitis.
It may be due to friction or ingrowing hair.
Mild discharge is okay and normal.
Apply topical antibiotic like mupirocin. See that there is no friction. Do not trim hair too short.
You can consult if it does not subside or there is increase in quantity/color change of discharge or any other symptoms develop.

You can get back for any clarification
Thank you
Dr Bharatesh
