What Causes Burning Sensation And Swelling On Knees?

After the intial home remedy, might need to see an orthopedic surgeon.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXX! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef, a general surgeon answering your query.
If I were your doctor, considering that you are not under any medications for any chronic health problem,I would advise you with the following:
1) Apply cold compress around the injured part
2) Try not to move the injured knee so far as possible to give it at most rest
3) If you got help at home, please try to apply a compression bandage around the injured knee to prevent further swelling, which could be due to accumulation of an oozing blood after the trauma
4) Prescribe you with an anti inflammatory along with a proton pump inhibitor drug for a symptomatic relief.
5) Although you did not mention of any current medications, I would advise you to stop any blood thinning agents if you are on at present till you are further examined and advised by your family physician/ orthopedic surgeon.
6) In case the swelling increases, or the pain increases in intensity with unstable injured knee joint, I would immediately refer you to an orthopedician or to the ER of a nearest hospital in your area for further assessment and needful. You might need a plaster cast even in the absence of an obvious fracture to control the bruise and tenderness arising out of the trauma.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
