What Causes Burning Sensation Around Vaginal Region After An Intercourse?

Question: I had unprotected sex yesterday afterwards it feels like my area where my hair is is burning and irrated. I shaved area today to check for bumps or something there's nothing. no other signs but the burning irrated feeling. could it be friction burn? how long would it last?
