What Causes Burning Sensation During Ejaculation?

Question: hi' I get a bunning sensation in the penis at the moment of ejectulation that lasts about 10 seconds and goes down both legs. burning is intense and no semen is ejected? what can cause this? I am an 80 year old man

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have severe pain while you ejaculate and no semen is ejaculated

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Do you have any other urinary symptoms like Frequency of urination ,urgency,hematuria,nocturnal frequency etc suggestive of enlarged prostate or cancer of prostate?
2) Are you taking any drugs especially Tomsulosin for urine flow problem ?
3) Have you ever passed blood in semen ?

The cause of painful ejaculation could be due to inflammation of Prostate,seminal vesicle or Urethra However absence of semen ejaculation may be due to obstruction of Ejaculatory duct.

Please consult qualified Urologist for clincal and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Examination of urine sample passed immediately after sexual intercourse to find out presence of sperms in urine to rule out retrograde ejaculation.
2) Semen examination to find out presence of sperm in ejaculate
3) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
4) Trans Rectal Ultrasound Scanning(TRUS).
5) MRI of pelvic region to diagnose blockage in ejaculatory duct.
6) Serum PSA.

Further treatment will depend upon the results of these tests and final diagnosis,

Medications Tried: I have asked the on-line docter but he wantsadittional information

Current Medications: prozack

Known Allergies: none that I know of

no blood in urins, I take prozack for urine flow problems I get up two or three times at night to urinate. I don't know about semen in urine ,I don.t see anything in the semen . I guess that's about all I can answer at the moment. please let me know if I can supply more information?

Thanks for follow up.Prozack (Fluoxetine)is ideally prescribed for psychological disorders like depression and not for nocturnal frequency of urination.

Please get investigations done which I have suggested my reply earlier to conclude the cause of painful ejaculation .

what treatment would you take to treat this problem with current information? what could be done forblockage in ejector duct?

Thanks for follow up .It is always advisable to trace out hte cause of your problems instead of taking symptomatic treatment

You can take antibiotics like Cefixine along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily.
Further treatment will depend upon the final diagnosis.

For blockage of Ejaculatory duct you will need to go for transurethral resection of Ejaculatory duct.
