What Causes Burning Sensation During Urination And Frequent Urination?

default
Posted on Tue, 17 Feb 2015
Question: I have been having a burning sensation on going to the bathroom, however my doctor says I do not have a bladder infection. she did a urine specimen exam At the office and said she found protein in my urine. Since that was at least two weeks ago and I am still having problems with the burning and frequent urination yet, I'm wondering if something else is going on. A few years ago I had a cystocele that was repaired by surgically implanting a pelvic sling. I also have an unrepaired rectocele which I believe is part of the problem. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
I think it's a urine infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal. I have read your query. I think I would be able to help you.

The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a possible urine infection . In fact presence of protein in the urine is one of the features of urine infection. And so I would disagree with the doctor.

I would seriously suggest testing a proper urine routine and culture and not just a bed side test.

The possibility of something going on may be present. But urine infection is more possible and should be considered first.

Take plenty of fluids and cranberry juice.

Rectocele is unrelated.

I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information helps you. Please feel free to contact us for more information. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
