The butning is in my scrotum and the shaft of my penid. Sometimes it feel like someone sticking me with a needle. It does not burn when i urinate. It present during the day. My dermatologist prescribe nystatin/calamine lotion and fluconazole of which does not work. I am taking valtrex

Brief Answer: skin problem . continue with few measures Detailed Answer: Hi, thanks for the information. Your doctor has prescribed for fungal infection and also for herpes. If there are no visible lesions then the prescribed ointment will help in reducing symptoms as it contain calamine and also fungal infection if present due to antifungal. For my patients along with the ointment, I advice to wear only cotton inner wears, sun dried with inside out. Keep the area always dry and wash twice daily. These measures will help more than only ointment. If any herpes infection, then you need to continue valacyclovir. I hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask for any further queries.
