Question: had protected sex 2 months ago with a sex worker. After 3 days I had severe penile burning issue. The doctor told me to take offlox 200 which I took for 3 weeks.
The burn gradually decreased.later I had severe back ache and annus burn and on some days my feet burns
Backache is less now and for annus burn ,my family doctor told me its due to bookworm and gave me medicines for that and penile burn sometimes occur slightly.
Keeping in mind it all started after having the sexual exposure have I got some kind of std?
Will i be able to get out all this completely?

Brief Answer:
Does not seem like a STD

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to healthcare magic.

From your history, I would consider the probable diagnosis of an urinary tract infection.

It does not seem to be a sexually transmitted disease.

However, I will be able to answer better if you could give me some more history.

1. Did you have any associated pus discharge from the urethra when you had the penile burning?

2. Did you have ulcers around your penis?

3. Did you notice any redness around your penis?

4. Was it a protected or unprotected intercourse?

5. Was any blood or urine test done? If so, please upload the reports.

Do clarify the above question so that I can assess your problem better and provide you a suitable solution.

Brief Answer:
Reports suggest mild urinary infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have seen the reports that you have uploaded. Do provide the answers to the questions I have asked in my previous reply.

From the reports, I would consider a mild urinary infection. There are ocassional pus cells seen in the urine microscopy. Many a times, it is not possible to isolate the bacteria if the bacterial load is not high. Hence, the culture test may be negative.

Since you have already taken the correct and adequate treatment, I do not think you require further treatment.

The burning around anus could have been due to worm infestation and your doctor has rightly treated it.

Do not worry. Your symptoms do not suggest any sexually transmitted infection.

I hope this reassures you and clears your query.

Take care.

Wishing you good health,

Dr. Johny Chacko

Brief Answer:
Could be candidial balanoposthitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

With the additional history of redness and mild swelling, I would consider the possibility of Candidial balanoposthitis.

This is an yeast infection of the glans and skin of the penis. This is common in sexually active adults.

You could apply a cream containing 2 % Ketoconazole twice a day for 2 weeks.

You could also take a single dose of fluconazole tablet 150 mg.

Keep the area dry.

It will heal completely. Do not worry.

Take care.

Dr. Johny Chacko

Flucanazole tablet I have taken for 2 weeks, although my urologist had told me to take it for 4 weeks. Should I take it for remaining 2 weeks? Or 2 is enough?.
