What Causes Burning Sensation In Scrotum And Anus?

Question: I feel a burning sense in my scrotum and around my anus , and even i feel discomfort whenever i site over the sofa, bed and even when i sleep. In addition , the surrounding areas became darker and darker and i feel such feeling since 2008 and i tried to contact several doctors the moment i feel such pain in that period , and most of them ordered me antibiotices but noen of them helped me. so please help me

I appreciate your concern

The area you have described is known as the perineum. The burning sensation is in a perianal location. The area needs to be examined. The examination should include a DRE (Digital rectal exam). Proctoscopy can also be advised if the examination alone is inconclusive. The examination should be done by a general surgeon to look for common causes such as hemorrhoids, anal fissure or an abscess that may be the cause. If a deep collection is suspected the an ultrasound of the abdomen pelvis +/- perineum / pelvic floor ultrasound may also be advised. You may discuss these options with your doctor.
