Could be due to vitamin deficiency & increased uric acid levels; further workup requested.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank You for contacting HCM. My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.
I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. First of all please accept my apology for a delay in response. There are a number of causes for your complaint. Most common includes vitamin deficiency. Followed by increased blood uric acid levels & nerve compression in lower back (resulting in referred pain). If i were your treating doctor then i would have advised following:
- Get serum uric acid test done from a reputed lab.
- X-ray lumbosacral spine (both AP & lateral view)
- Doppler ultrasound of left calf.
- Multivitamin supplements including folic acid & B12. You can get it as OTC from nearest pharmacy.
When you get the results of the tests then either you can share with me or contact your local doctor. Further medication would be advised according to test results. Meanwhile try to avoid green leafy vegetables, meats such as liver, kidney and sweetbreads. Keep yourself well hydrated with water.
Wishing you a very good health.
Thank You
