What Causes Burning Sensation In The Vaginal Area Post Medical Termination Of Pregnancy?

default
Posted on Mon, 5 Oct 2015
Question: Burning sensation in vaginal with no itching and non milky fibrous discharge that occasionally has blood in it, it does not smell. I had a termination at the end of May and since then I have been consumed with a burning sensation in my vagina and at points lower tummy pain. As well as having three course of antibiotics 6 treatments for thrush it has not gone away. My last period came at day 21 of my cycle and I am usually a 28 day person (to the nose). I have no fever and my blood glucose levels are normal. I have had a transvaginal scan that appeared normal, been tested for both chlamydia and gonorrhea which are both negative, yet the pain is getting worse and I am petrified.

Brief Answer:
Get a vaginal smear examination done

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
You seem to be having vaginal thrush or candidiasis. It is of two types candida albicans and non albicans which can only be detected by vaginal smear examination.
Normally the treatment is given for C.albicans fungus and doesn't eradicate C.non albicans. The treatment of non albicans group is for prolonged duration(14 days) and high dose(150 mg bd)
I suggest you to get a vaginal smear examination done and get the treatment for the relevant infection.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
