What Causes Burning Sensation On Penis Shaft During Intercourse?
Question: i had sex with my gf a few weeks ago, i used a condom and during sex i experienced a burning sensation on the shaft of my penis. the next day i noticed a round wound. later on it scabbed and it looked like it was going away. my girlfriend and i had sex again, and again i used a condom. the same circle wound came back along with 3 smaller ones on the shaft of my penis. what could this be? is it an allergy to the condom? or something else?
Brief Answer:
Trauma, Genital herpes, condom allergy might be possibilities.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
Burning sensation started during sex act means it could be a scratch or traumatic abrasion due to rubbing during sex.Inadequate lubrication or forcible or wrong entry might have caused the same.
Repeated sex in presence of ulcer or abrasion would prevent healing. Abstinence for a period of a week at least is needed for healing.
Next possibility is Genital Herpes. Recurrence and multiple grouped lesion are possible.
Condom allergy is the least possible reason.
If you could upload the picture of the lesion it would be possible for me to extend more information.

the top one is the first time having sex, the smaller ones are from the next after sex.
Brief Answer:
Big one due to injury, smaller are due to HSV 2 infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
The first bigger ulcer seems to be tear during sex and slightly infected.
The bottom grouped tiny ulcers seems to be due to Genital Herpes. Genital Herpes is known for recurrences. Condom did not offer 100% protection. Recurrence from old infection is the other possibility. A careful examination and investigations to rule out other STD will confirm the diagnosis
Appropriate treatment for traumatic ulcer and treatment for Genital herpes would relieve your problem. Consult your physician and get well soon.
A strict abstinence till a complete healing occurs, is a must.
