What Causes Burning Sensation On Tip Of Penis After Applying Sanitizer?
Question: Dear doctor, thank you all your wonderful help in this site. I am writing to you because un monday afternoon (4 days ago) i had protected CASUAL anal sex (give and receive), but had unprotected oral sex (give and receive). Afterwards i got nervous and since i did not had a shower or bathroom nearby i applied hand sanitizer on penis shaft and tip. Since then, 1-2 days afterwards i have been having this burning sensation in the tip of my penis. I don't feel any pain, fatigue or even fever, but i have this persistent intermittent pain for almost 3 days now. No other symptoms and at least for now no pain during urination. Can this be due to chlamydia/gonorrhea, herpes (prodomal) symptoms or just an inflammation of the urethra because of the hand sanitizer??? I wanted to have and STD test, which i did today URINE PCR FOR CHLAMYDIA AND GONORRHEA and URINE TEST (NOT PCR) FOR HSV 1 and 2. I need to wait about 10 days for the resultes believe it or not but i wanted to get some professional opinions before. Thank you very much for all your help.

I need to know was there any oral lesions or genital lesions on your partner ?
Your burning sensation is due to sanitizer , next time don't use sanitizer . Just clean it with soap and water.

Thanx for the very quick reply =). I did a typo, i don't have any pain at all, ONLY intermittent but almost constant burning sensation on tip of penis. Partner did not have any VISIBLE lesions on penis and I did not have on penis. How long will burning sensation due to hand sanitizer last? Thanx a bunch!
Regarding oral lesions, as i mentioned in original question my partner had a round flat red mole looking thing between lip and chin but nothing else anywhere. Didn't look like blisters (at least not at that time).

If no lesions on your partners mouth and genitals then very high chance that you won't get any STD's . But good that you went and got the test as it will give 100% confirmation.
The burning sensation can last for 1-2 days and penis skin and tip is very sensitive. If it is bothering so much ask your doctor for a prescription of Xylocaine jelly and apply over it , you will get good relief.

Thank you again. As i told you my partner had a single round red flat "mole looking" lesion on lip/mouth but nothing else where that i noticed.
Final 2 questions i promise:
1. If my possible infection date was 4 days ago, will the irune per test for gonorrhoea and chlamydia be accurate? Or do i have to wait more days? Will simple urine test will be accurate for herpes 1 or 2?
2. My ONLY symptom is this burning at tip of penis (opening). It has gone on for 2 days now and only started 1-2 days after i applied the hand sanitizer. Is it normal for burning to start 1-2 days after applying the hand sanitizer on penis tip?
